Local
Supporting the community by prioritising locally produced goods.
You vote with every single dollar you spend for the world and ideals you would like to see flourish.
Ingredients and services, wherever possible, are sourced locally and thoughtfully. Jammit is committed to building a resilient community by keeping trading and production within the local communities and NZ businesses.
Jammit proudly uses fresh produce grown right here in Ōtautahi. Free-range eggs, honey, oil, spelt and spray-free wheat flour are all sourced from the region too. A little further afield in the North Island, comes Whittakers chocolate and also Vutter – a seriously good butter alternative.
You might catch Jammit at a local market from time to time. Keep an eye on Jammits Facebook page to not miss out!
Casual
Food for friends. Honest, relaxed, real food. + Full GF & DF range +
Food is a love language. It should delight all of the senses, be an experience, be a little messy, look luscious, and like real food with no weird artificial ingredients!
All cakes and other creations are handmade, 100% naturally decorated pieces of beautiful and abstract food art to be devoured.
+ Jammit has spent years developing gluten-free and dairy-free adaptations and is proud to offer a full range of such. Everything, unless specifically mentioned, can be made omitting gluten and dairy. This is at no extra cost and we stand by the products being just as luscious and devour-able as the standard options! For more information on GF, DF and other dietary requirements head to the Dietaries page. +
Unrefined
Respecting the beauty of nature with sustainable practices & minimal processing.
Commitment to community is also about commitment to the earth we live on. Jammit is an advocate for reducing waste – Recycle, Reuse, Re-purpose! Our packaging is all compostable or recyclable. We are dedicated to using sustainable practices; as well as honouring the seasons by using what’s abundant in the region at the time.
Respecting and honouring nature also intertwines with using good quality ingredients, with no artificial additives or unnecessary processes. Jammit uses only raw sugar or honey to sweeten cakes and pies, spray-free wheat flour (where applicable) and sources ingredients as locally as possible to reduce our footprint and support local business.
On-site, Renee is developing a food forest with organic permaculture practices which she hopes to harvest in the future for the business and community. Flowers, herbs and some of the fruit are already being used!
